Hertford (ticker: HIG.L), an AIM listed financial services company, is pleased to announce that the board of Hertford resolved on 19 February 2009 to appoint Adam James Dougall as its Chief Operating Officer.

Adam Dougall, age 39, has been the Company's financial controller since joining Hertford in July 2008. Prior to this he was Group Acting Financial Controller at Legg Mason Investments from 2006 to 2007 and with Cantor Fitzgerald from 1997 to 2006 in a variety of roles, finishing as Business Manager. He is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and received his training with Ashley James Accountants for whom he worked from 1988 to 1997.

Commenting, Paul Marks non-executive chairman of Hertford, said; "Adam joins the board at a very exciting time for Hertford and will play a central role in our expansion plans following the recent acquisition of Cheque Exchange Limited.

Adam came to Hertford having gained extensive experience at Cantor Fitzgerald and has developed a deep understanding of our business in his position as financial controller. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome him to the board."
